The admission is done on the basis of secondary education. University applicants can be citizens of Russia, as well as foreign nationals who speak Russian. There are student places on state-funded and fee-paying bases. Enrolment for state-funded places is conducted on a competitive basis regardless of an applicant’s nationality. A certificate of passing a Unified State Examination (USE) is needed for admission. Foreign citizens can pass this examination directly at SUSU upon submitting documents.
The Faculty trains students according to a two-level system Bachelor’s/Master’s Degrees, recognized all over the world. The graduates can pursue their studies taking a postgraduate course. This system of higher education is realized by the majority of European institutions over a decade. The system is approved by countries which have joined the Bologna process, as well as non-Bologna countries.
Whether this system is good for Russia, time will show. But the transition to this system was necessary for Russia’s integration with other countries.
